Transatlantic solo rower set to break world record

Charlie Pitcher is set to break the Transatlantic solo rowing world record. He set off from La Gomera
on Feb.6th and has already covered more than one fifth of the distance.

What makes people want to do that sort of stuff. Highly commendable and he is bound to raise loads of money for charities but how does someone come up with the idea of being alone for so long and in what could possible be a very dangerous situation. Are they brave or just foolhardy?? :puzzled:

I just asked Mischief Maker that question..."Why would you want to do that?" In a couple of years time another like-minded individual will come along and beat the record again anyway!

Just found this, must have been away when it started. He is now into his 14th day. I tried to find out how far he has got but couldnt find the info. Hopefully nearly half way!
