Whoever they are they are a bunch of thieving bassa's (at least they tried to be but i was vigilant)
I am going to Minnesota in April to visit my employer HQ (Edinburgh-London-Chicago-Minneapolis and back again 2 weeks later)
Booked flights yesterday, paid with credit card and got email confirmation - all fine
20 minutes later i get another email saying that edin-lon schedule changed - means less time hanging about between connection (now 50mins) fair enough
today i get another email this time confirming itinerary and price (thought was done with respect to the other emails) and price is £200 more!
in a panic (and then rage) i contacted United Airlines who are the main carrier and they tell me that AerLingus kept unconfirming and then reconfirming the flights (at least twice) and when it was done the last time the price of the full trip (i.e. edinburgh to US and back) was higher
well that is not good enough says I, i agreed to a price and got email confirmation you can't just change the price
Long story short(ish) she has refunded the extra and resent me confirmation with original price but better flight times and a humble apology
allegedly the agent should have checked price was still the same
if i hadn't checked the email i would have been charged the extra and who knows if my company would have been willing to pay the difference as i already had to go through approval twice for the original price as once they agreed i could claim the cost the price had already increased by £30 at time of booking
