Oscar. I am sure you will love Tenerife. As I burn I start off using a high sun factor and then drop to a lower one. Even when overcast you will still need protection. Plenty of aftersun as well.My advice is do not over do the sun bathing on the first few days.

Weather temp. will be anywhere between low to high 20s generally. If you tan well enough a factor 8 for the forst couple of days and down to a 4 for the rest of the time. If you are fair-skinned then go for a higher one obviously. You can get burnt easily in Tenerife because it doesn't feel blisteringly hot, but don't let that fool you! I had a look in the Hacienda del Sol apartments about 5 years ago just to see what they were like and to be honest they were pretty basic then, but as I said that was 5 years ago! They're only for sleeping and washing in anyway so as long as the beds are comfy who gives a damn!

Take no notice of weather channels, only problem you may hit with the weather is if a Calima comes in, that is a sandstorm from the Sahara. This can make it windy, cool for a short time, quite throaty and also very very hot. Sounds confusing but when it comes in the temp can really drop, but as it settles the heat can be extreme.

Today on my patio it hit 42C in full sun, so make sure you have plenty of sun cream. Just arrived home after a night out and it is still 20C so your OH may want to take a cardi just to slip around the shoulders if you are eating out on a night overlooking the sea as it can feel cooler than it really is after a very hot day.
If you want a good night out you can also try Vivo's for a dinner show or just go to the patio at the back for a free night listening to the lovely Marc Craig. Great entertainment.

It is bloody cold ....... not got much above 20C and it promised to be so nice this morning.
