Funny thing electricity, lad in above incident did not touch the live wire,,, guy I new worked as a maintenance engineer in a large factory, he and a work colleague were carrying out thermal imaging tests on power distribution boards, this is a test to see if cables are overheating, which if so may in turn lead to a fire. There were several distribution boards in the set they were testing and they had already tested a few, with a screwdriver in his hand he made to open one of the distribution board doors, as he made to unscrew the door locking mechanism with his screwdriver still some six inched from the door there was a flash, he was flung back off his feet, his colleague rushed to him, he seemed ok, no burn marks on his hands etc, but he soon started to feel unwell, he was taken to hospital, initial checks showed nothing wrong, but his condition continued to worsen, further checked showed there were problems with his internal organs, they had been part cooked...
Bumped in to the guy about a year after the accident, he looked like death warmed up, walking with a stick, one step away from a wheelchair, he was fortyish...
Doctors had told him he was lucky to be alive and that only time would tell as to his progress, as to the cause of the accident, a mystery, extensive checks were carried out by the investigation authoritys on the electrical equipment involved and nothing was found to be at fault. As to the guy, don't know, lost touch...
