I know most bars will do free wifi but what realistic speeds can you get?? I would imagine it would be quite slow, maybe 1Mb per sec?

Re: WiFi
Dunno, never used wifi outside of my house but yes most bars have it and will give you their password for the price of a drink.

Re: WiFi
In my experience it is quite slow in any bars I have used on holiday but if its free you really can't complain.
I spent two weeks on holiday this year and the WiFi was incredibly slow made surfing the net incredibly slow. It took me about an hour to check in on-line and download our boarding passes.

Re: WiFi
Last year I took my net-book with us and found the speed very good , we were in G.D.S. and the Wild Geese's WI-FI. was awful but in the hotel it was super , in fact I paid for a week and still had access after 3 weeks.

Re: WiFi
We are going for 2 months , it's not really a holiday ,it's more of an escape from this weather.
