South Shields Custom Car Show 25/05/14

Well today I went down to the coast we have a small open athletes stadium.

Years ago it used to attract alot of custom cars once a year but it was moved to Sunderland, today it was back, it wasnt a massive turn out but a good start, I think the weather put alot of people off, well would you want your chrome getting wet lol.

Anyway here are the photos of the cars that were there lets hope this grows again over the years.

Hmmmm, I see Kit was there. I have some white paint for the bumpers on the VW Camper.  

Daryn, I can't believe you put all them on one at a time! What's the easy way?

I use the bulk uploader on photobucket then just copy the img code for each photo seems the quickest way to go. Try to use forumsmotion photo thingy takes forever

Aye, looks the biz though. My first two cars were pre '63. Trojan bubble car, 9921 PL, and a black Mk2 Consul, cant remember the reg number. Nice slippery bench seat.    Ooops forgot, Austin A55 estate, had stick on orange footprints on the roof and bonnet, very thick steel as I remember. You certainly wouldnt dent it walking over it! Both had column gear change. 
I do miss those bench seats.  

Bench seats, recall years back my mate got his hands on what was then a very old Hillman Humber, you don't get apartments nowadays with the space that thing had inside, we'd picked up a couple of birds and were having a good time, next thing bird I'm with says Oi, you got three hands... Turns out my mate had got the boring one and decided to join in on the action on the back bench...

Ahhh, the Coventry Climax.   

We made the Dagenham dustbin in Essex, Mk4 Zephyr/Zodiac. Things improved somewhat with the Granada, not bad cars.

Granada now your talking, here is a video of me and my mate in his Granada its a real head turner and completely original, Ive drove it a few times now its awesome.

Granada Coupe that is, must be fairly rare now. Most ended up on the banger racing circuit. I see he doesnt want to wear the seat belts out.  

Fibre timing wheels used to strip, all the bits ended up in the sump, so a small ish job turned into a big bugger, you could cheat if you were selling it and just do the gears, but then the motor got wrecked later on, Informative forum this is,

I have driven every model of ford car brought into the country except the Granada ,had a cousin who was a pro football player who took me out for a spin along the Lang Whang and I could never get back into one , had a Datsun Stanza the same colour as that though with black vinyl roof and gold alloys

I used to buy any Sapphire Granada i could lay my hands on, Dark blue top and silver below the waste line, black leather interior, then we would have an Escort 1300E or Ghia done the same colour, His and hers, we became a ford used car buyer, Capri's s or Ghia any top model , Cortina 2000E all that stuff,
Couldnt get enough of them, 70's and 80's, Boom Boom Boom, then the arse fell out of it   

Overheads is what you dont want, Staff, rates, insurance, thefts, thieves, Blox to that,
Busy fools innit, Better on my own, If i mess up i tell myself off, If its quiet do the garden  

Saw some brand new two-tone cars on a car transporter the other day, Audis I think they were. Glad its coming back into fashion, my one silver rear door on a dark blue Merc wont look so out of place then.    Purchased a 5 litre can of red oxide from a local supplier for 20 notes last week, might do the lot in it.
