Have a story to tell about the medical centre at the top of the one way system in Golf Del Sur. There is a pharmacy upstairs and a doctor's surgery below. I went to get cream for mosquito bites and the lady told me that one of the bites was infected and that II must see the doctor downstairs and that it was free, no charge. Well, I couldn't be bothered so I didn't go. Today, I was talking to a friend of mine who also frequented the same pharmacy with an ear ache earlier in July. The lady behind the counter also told him to visit the doctor , that it was free, no charge. He went to the GP and last week got a bill for 400 euro. Needless to say he is not paying it but just beware anyone who may have cause to visit the place.

We used this centre, Val had a chest infection, went in spoke to the receptionist who gave us a registration form to fill in which we did , handed it back and two minutes later a nurse called Val into her office for a pre med, she was away 25 minutes ,came back ,sat down and the doctor called her into the surgery, ten minutes later out she came brandishing a prescription for anti biotics and ear drops, went upstairs to the pharmacy who filled the prescription and gave us the bill , shock and horror 28 euros, Val said it would have cost more in telephone calls just to get an appointment here

I wonder what was going on with my pal??? He was staying in San Andres and even the "welcome" book in the apartment was warning about this centre.

Had a friend about to renew their EHIC card, said it was going to cost £27 or something, I say no, they're free, friend says no, been on internet and its £27,,, I have a look on the net and sure enough the first sites that come up look like NHS sites and are charging varying amounts of cash for the card, continued my search and eventually came across the genuine NHS site where the card is free...
Why are these con sites allowed on the net...
