    EHIC Empty EHIC

    Post by Perfectspecimen Sat 10 Jan 2015 - 0:07

Recently noticed my familys EHIC cards were a year out of date. Luckily nowt dramatic has happened, like me falling over pissed and bouncing down the steps on the way back from Sundowners  EHIC 2419626307
You may think you are safe with your Travel Insurance but be aware, the first get out clause is alcohol! Oh yes they dont cover you if you have had a little drink! Or left your cash in a taxi........  EHIC 2024858757
Anyway you Brits make sure you get one, costs nowt if you do it via NHS website, you just need your NI number, that stands for National Insurance but unlike most insurance policies you dont even need to pay anything in, entry is free at Heathrow.......

you can order them online from anywhere in the world on-line,unlike if you want to pay for your UK tv licence which wont let you do it if your not in the UK ....
if you are a UK RESIDENT you need a UK CARD . if you are a SPANISH resident (ie a UK OAP in spain) YOU NEED A SPANISH CARD

if you are a Spanish resident retired, disabled or on extreme medication you can also apply for I believe its a sc1 card, Albert has one, this gets you registered at a Spanish doctor.

a EHIC card is when you leave the country you are RESIDENT ie a british OAP going to another country ie the UK
AS ANYONE NOT A UK RESIDENT HAS TO PAY FOR TREATMENT IN THE UK ,SO YOU NEED A SPANISH EHIC ...

Haha, went on Autoreisen website today and its gone up to 141€ now for a car, looks like they have chosen the Ryanair model and put the price up as the date gets closer.  EHIC 3025408739 No probs just went on google to look for cheapest and found one for £41.45.
