Its bad long term for the country's economy and eventually the taxpayer. It also makes national debts ( eurozone) more expensive to service. You should see inflation creeping back over the next 2 years though due to the quantitative easing undertaken by the ECB until December 2016. ( They are effectively printing 1.1 trillion euro
