Its the same across the manufacturing industry both in the UK and Ireland. We have priced ourselves out of the market. Poor productivity and spiraling wages. Simple solution pay everyone a basic wages and then split half the profits among the workforce BEFORE a penny is handed out in dividends.

The guy who replaced my oil tank today was telling me that he can get tanks manufactured in Belgium delivered to his premises in two weeks, for 30% less money than importing them from the UK and in half the time. Even then, the UK is still cheaper than any Irish manufacturers. Madness

Better see if your oil is still in the tank in the morning first

My old tank held 1100 litres apparently ( had it filled beginning of September ). The new tank holds 920 . The original deal was to transfer oil from the old one into the new one. The new one is now fitted with 900 litres of oil in it ( he left a bit for expansion ) but as there was an excess of oil, so I still have my old tank sitting on blocks beside the new one. It has 300 litres in it. WTF??

My tank is nearly empty again, 1000 litres only lasts 10 weeks.
No doubt we will have plenty of Chinese import workers arriving in Somerset soon, they wont ever go back. Shambles. Sack the fecking Government. Can we have Trident in Wisbech please?
