Its up to him whether or not to wear the poppy but that turning the back on the national anthem was just plain wrong ( and stupid). If you are going to stand up for your own beliefs then at the very least you should respect the anthem of the feckin country where you are living and working. I've been in the UK before during Remembrance Day and haven't worn a poppy. I think its for British people to do so if they want. However, I soon shifted an English guy off his arse when he was sitting down singing "Inngerrrlaanndd" during our national anthem. Respect works both ways.

I'm just playing Devil's Advocate. Personally, I think he'd get short shrift from his friends and family back home in Derry if he wore one.
