Yip, like that sort of thing, but what a waste of money, we've had a railway bridge there for a hundred odd years, current road bridge only about fifty years old and doing well,,, err well sorta OK, and does it really matter if a few Fifers get an early bath...

Because of the Tay rail bridge disaster in 1879, they were all crapping themselves, so they massively over-engineered the Forth bridge which is why it's still with us today. Opened in 1890. Here's a photo I took at night of it...
