Re: Last night's Northern Lights
Despite having been up to Shetland numerous times I have never seen them, I recall being up there once and the mother in law saying she'd been kept awake by them, they give off a crackling noise seemingly, as far as she was concerned they were just a nucance, I said to her if she was wakened by them again to give me a shout but it never happened...
Speaking to people who have seen them they say it is more of a white light than the green light the time laps photography shows them as...

Re: Last night's Northern Lights
I saw them a few times on exercises in North sea and Irish sea up into arctic waters, absolutely stunning. Yes quite a lot of white light but many colours, the gren and mauve can be very vivid. If you watch on open seas though you get see a lot better as cities spoil the effect

Re: Last night's Northern Lights
Mermaids bucket list. £69 return in May and June to you know where. Even from Edinburgh and Glasgow. You wanna get that Cam to get his finger out and start booking some trips girl. You only live once you know. Bet it costs less than a week in the Highlands. Or maybe try somewhere new? I am off to Gran Canaria on Monday. Accomodation central cost me €150.50 but could have got a double room for same price. And peeps say its more expensive than Tenerife. The hire car from Autoreisen has cost €30 more but I will be on the lookout for some Funchal type beers, some Spanish restaurants up in the hills and of course some free sex on the beach at Maspalomas dunes.
