Reg returned with a fair maiden who he had rescued from that dragon who resides on that hill with the snow on.

It always seems like that when you come back from Tenerife. Apart from the golf courses and resorts, it's all a mish-mash of browns and greys over there so you get hit with colour-overload when you get home. (New medical term I invented...).

I went to St Georges school in the grounds of St Georges church in Leeds, they shut that down and we all moved to St Andrews school were we took it off them No change then.

Re: Happy St. George's Day!
No one calls it racist
When the daffodil’s worn in Wales
Or is offended by their dragon
With its forked tail and scales
When St Patrick’s day comes round
And the shamrock’s being worn
The Irish are not treated
With insult or with scorn
If a Scotsman on St Andrew’s day
Hoists his flag aloft
He’s not proclaimed a fascist
Or ridiculed or scoffed
So when St George’s Day arrives
We English men wont hide
For Elizabeth, England & St George
We’ll wear our Rose with pride
When the daffodil’s worn in Wales
Or is offended by their dragon
With its forked tail and scales
When St Patrick’s day comes round
And the shamrock’s being worn
The Irish are not treated
With insult or with scorn
If a Scotsman on St Andrew’s day

Then when the match finishes the DJ will be playing all them shit songs, We'll meet again,,, There allways be a England,,, They'll be blubirds over etc, etc, etc,,, then when he plays the dam busters theme the feckin twats turn in to aeroplanes buzzing around all over the place knocking beer everywhere,,, Arghhhhhh
Minute the final whistle goes quick exit to the Angel me thinks...

Re: Happy St. George's Day!
Yip as expected pub was hammered, we (3 of us) got in early about a hour before the match so we got a seat, then as it got near kick off time the place just filled up, partly football supporters partly St Georges day revelers, our view of the telly was getting blocked ocassionlay by punters moving in front of it but all you had to do was turn your head slightly and view it on one of the other tellies dotted around the place but no my mates are moaning there tits off about it and want to move on somewhere else at half time,,, I say where we gonna go everywhere is going to be hammered, the Wheatsheaf they say, I say it will be worse then here, the landlord puts a DJ on in one half of the pub and the footy on in the other half Sat and Sunday afternoons, but no I'm overruled so come halftime off we set,,, didn't even try to get to the bar in the Wheatsheaf it was hammered plus the DJ's hammering out shit music at max volume...
Plan B,,, the Crown and Kettle,,, this is us now backtracking to where we just came from (it's right opposite the hotel you were in Dermo), so we get there, pubs empty,,, landlord says authorities wanted him to put two bouncers on the door if he was showing the match......
Plan C,,, the Crown and Anchor, once again we backtrack on ourselves, now the enlightened pairs thought process in picking this pub is its a Blues (City supporters) pub and therefore will be empty,,, wrong, it's hammered,,, but we get in and luckily some people vacate some seats so we grab them, but guess what, our view of the screen is obscured by people moving around in the pub,,, so weve just spent twenty five, yes we missed ten minutes of the game, zig zagging across town, and what do we get,,, a view of the telly worse than in the pub we just left...
Anyway we settle down to watch the match, the Reds score, place goes mental,,, wait a mo, that was an own goal,,, it's all the feckin Blue noses who frequent the place supporting Everton...
So it's looking as if it's going to extra time then thank god with seconds to go we thump one in,,, don't know if I could have spent another half hour in that place, not a good environment for someone with a Scottish accent supporting United on St Georges day,,, plus the beer was 55p more a pint than the local...
So match over of we set to the Angel, and no it ain't just the two minute hop around the corner from the local, were down near the Piccadilly Station end of Piccadilly Gardens now...
Last time I listen to them two eejits...

Re: Happy St. George's Day!
Hmmm, forgot about St Georges day. They were having a party to celebrate at Sundowners bar, obviously missed it.
Glad to see that twat Obama has left England. Telling us to stay in Europe, whats in it for him? Its all down to the Yanks the Worlds in such a mess anyway. And the dollars worth less than the Euro..... Losers! Talking of which are we trading with Cuba yet? Should be. Send them some nice Land Rovers. Open up the sugar plantations again, we'll take that. Then we can use our fields for growing spuds and cauliflowers instead of sugar beet. Can we trade with the World? Of course we can, we practically invented International trade ffs! Another thing, remember when we had a little skirmish with the Argies? Did we get any help from Europe? Er, nope. Rule Brittania!!!

Re: Happy St. George's Day!
Think we just recently finished paying off the yanks for their help in the war. They loaned us money and goods not gave it. Yep they sent troops some who died and were terribly injured but thats just the sort of thing they do anyway, flex their muscles even if sometimes it goes belly up, Vietnam....... Hitler tried his utmost to bring us to our knees and invade UK but failed, nearest he got were the Channel Islands. 20 miles of sea, the RAF and Navy were too much for him. Rest of western europe, eastern europe right down to Greece and parts of north africa all succumbed, but not us. Iberian peninsula just sat on the fence. Dont forget there were 3 seperate beach invasions on D-day either. UK, Americans, and Canadians with other Commonwealth troops. And at the other end the Russians were finding their feet. So how much did America actually shorten the war by? Given that they were well pressed in the Pacific also? Maybe 6 months. Or maybe 1 day. because the russians took Berlin.
