Thomas Cook cabin crew to strike.
Read this the other day and forgot to mention it. No doubt someone brighter than me can find a link but basically it goes like this.......... As it stands the cabin crew are allowed a break of X minutes every 6 hours, guess they sit on the wing eating their sarnies and having a fag then, but Thomas Cook want to change their contracts to one break every 12 hours, as laid down as the minimum by the CAA or whatever it is. Sounds a bit harsh to be fair! Not like the old BL days then. Anyway as a rather regular passenger on said airline, and others as well, it has come to my notice that, especially on the back to UK leg the cabin crew spend at least 2 hours sitting behind that curtain rabbiting and particularly on evening flights even turn the cabin lights off so no fecker notices! Not that I personally mind. If I manage to nod off the last thing I welcome is some bugger with an unnaturally high voice trying to sell me some frigging scratch cards. Including turn around time on a flight to Canaries, even from Scotland, probably wont be more than 12 hours, bet Ryanair will do it in 10, and there is ample time there for a break. Probably the only time a break never happens is if there are problem, (drunk) punters on board and lets face it they shouldnt be allowed on board anyway let alone serving them more booze at silly prices which I am sure they are encouraged to do.......... Anyway if you dont want your jobs Freddie and Jack will step up to the mark. Trust me no drunks will phase Fred and Jack can move a dustbin so that trolley wont be a problem. He looks a bit camp anyway.

Then if we make to let's say drive a truck in to Mainland Europe you'd have to comply with the European working time directive, the Britich Working time directive, EU tachograph regulations, and feckin British tachograph regulations as well if we decide to change them as well...

Yeh so do we but they exclude Annie's pancreas issues and my knee issues so if we had problems with them when on holidays we'd always have the health card to fall back on, otherwise we'd be fecked...

Re: Thomas Cook cabin crew to strike.
I fail to see what the price of flights has to do with being in EU. Fuel costs the same at all airports. Have you been listening to O'Leary again? And you trust him? EHIC is a reciprical agreement, they treat us and we treat them.

Re: Thomas Cook cabin crew to strike.
The Eu countries don't charge airlines from other EU countries for flying through their airspace and using their air traffic control. If the UK opts out, the UK airlines ( or more technically, flights originating in the UK ) will be subject to tariffs. Now, we can assume that the UK will do individual deals with other countries, but in the mean time, they will have to pay. Don't know what O'Leary said about it.

There planes worry me, they dont pump enough good air, worst about, still they were nice and coughed up a few hundred for my delay that they said was not their fault, when they blatantly sent the staff home.

Re: Thomas Cook cabin crew to strike.
Last time I was at TFS there was a 12 hour delay on a flight to Gatwick. Felt a bit sorry for them but thats what you get for flying Norwegian air innit, or Vueling to give it its proper Spanish name. (By the way if you want one of their flights use the Spanish site, its cheaper). Lonely looking plane was out on the apron but there was no fecker working on it........ Fly English. Usually go Thomson, best of a bad bunch in my opinion. No tickets yet, waiting for the price to hit £69.
