Ach, we're all wired differently. Society is an association of minorities, you like cars, Minty likes football, Vince likes boats etc. Each to his own! Que sera sera, c'est la vie and all that crap!

I went to a big rugby school, the teachers got that fed up with me they let me loose on their cars in the school garage while they all went off to matches,

Wasn't much in to watching sport until I stopped partaking myself, as a kid and in my teens went to watch Hibs mainly cos my mates were gong and would have been left on my tod if I didn't go, played rugby at school cos you had to do something but away from school I was in to push bikes, raced cycle speedway cos allways went to watch the real thing, then when old enough it was motorbikes and go karts, motorbikes allways off road stuff, motocross, grass track or enduro it was, after I packed that in in my forties that I started going to the pub a bit more and got in to watching football, if anyone had said to me during my motorbike racing period that I'd end up enjoying watching football I'd have bet them a grand I wouldn't,,, I'd have lost...
I also watch the big rugby matches, moto GP, British super bikes, British touring cars, and at one time never missed F1, but for last few years got bored with it, all about strategy now not racing...

Re: Reg & football
Just to explain AJ, Topdog once put up a photograph of him taken in a hotel at a wedding. He looked really small in it and claimed this was down to the fact that the skirting boards in the hotel were extra tall. FFS!!!angusjim wrote:The Lone Ranger wrote:I know what it's like to be small...

Re: Reg & football
i was in to footy as a lad. used to go with my dad and uncles in the 70's to watch walsall. then when i went to school most of my mates were wolves fans. so we used to go to watch wolves one week when they where at home. then they would come with me to watch walsall the next. because it was in the 80's we were heavily into football hooliganism , running with the wolves subway army and the walsall casual's. i managed to get myself locked up a few times. but it took the fines and marriage to finally make me realize how stupid i was . now my wife comes with me and we sit with the oap's . i played rugby union for a few years as a hooker. but i can only watch rugby union. not that namby pamby league stuff. i also played footy as a goalkeeper. and despite my lack of height won a few trophies. and i played cricket as a wicket keeper, also winning a few trophies. but now i just watch
