Talking of Transits my first ever camper was a transit, had a pop up roof about 30" wide. Must have picked it up at an auction as I was a budding car dealer in those days. D Reg 1966, hand painted green as I remember. We went camping in the New Forest. We couldnt afford camp sites, just park up in the woods. Nowts changed trust me! I remember I hit a car up the arse in it, no damage to either vehicle. Today it would be thousands........... And the value of the Transit too! Actually we used to use my old orange Austin LD spud delivery van for kipping in before that. Went to Reading Festival in it. Must have been at least 10 of us kipping in the back of that. Guess I was about 17, I was shagging Rosie at the time, stunning bird with long blond hair. Hmmm.
