Re: Canoe last week wasn't it...
Recall years back was up Cams part of the world heading to the stock-car racing at Cowdenbeath, for some reason we'd came through Dunfermline rather than motorway, we're on Halbeath road just past where the Elizabethan is (Cam knows where I'm on about), a few cars in front of us there's a guy towing a stock car to the meeting, next thing trailer detaches,,, trailer/stock-car exit stage right managing to miss oncoming traffic and plough in to wall on opposite side of road...
That said a few years later managed to have a trailer with three go karts on it detach on us...

We lost a drum of copper telephone cable one time. The trailer bar wasn't the one that came with the trailer and was slightly shorter than usual. Managed to slip out of the support ratchet thingy. Nowadays trailer and bar have the same serial number stamped on them to stop it from happening again...

Re: Canoe last week wasn't it...
My brother in law drove round a bend one morning and there was a big cement mixer ( big drum and it was on wheels) on the road. So, himself and apprentice, pushed it onto tarmac in front of nearby house, went home, got the trailer and loaded it up. In fairness, he actually reported it to the coppers who came outside, took a look at it and decided it was too heavy to push into the station. . They told him to keep it at home, and if it wasn't claimed within 12 months and a day, he could keep it. The thing was worth about 800 quid.

Two guys got in the middle of it at the top of the hill, flung out at bottom, then the muppets that run to help them get run over as cable drum rolls back down the hill...
