Just got a letter from mastercard saying they will phone me up with a 6 digit number that I have to use when ordering stuff online. At the end of the letter it says 'mastercard ID Check verified by Visa'. I already have one for Visa which sometimes pops up at the end of a transaction so WTF? How many passwords or numbers can I keep in my head? About 4 probably so I will have to write it down. Very secure then.

Yeah, I get that verification by bank thing at the end of online payments as well. Haven't been contacted by Mastercard about 6 digit password thingy yet though.

Looks kosher to me. They have the beginning and end of my card number correct and the end of my phone number correct. No phone call yet but I will be careful.
