    Pat McDonagh only opened a chippy cos he bought a dilapidated building in ballinasloe, for a nominal amount afaik,  ( bout 25 mile away), and wanted to open a dance hall. When he was refused permission, he applied for a chipper, got that, and the rest is history. Very savvy guy. Owns 3 services on the motorways, about 4 or 5 hotels, wind farms, couple of hundred restaurants, chain of bar and restaurants in U.S. and has franchises ready to go in Australia, UK, Spain, Germany Asia and a few more. Still talks with a thick Galway culchie ( Google it) accent McDonalds loses out against Supermac. 3025408739
