Is the forum running slow
I have tried to get onto the forum several times today and gave up each time because of the length of time it was taking. I have just left this session running in the background and eventually it has opened. When I click 'view posts since last visit' there aren´t any so does that mean nobody has managed to get on today?
Now it is not letting me post as it is asking for 2 poll options !!! Not funny

I had problems with it and also Daryn's Majorca forum. Both of them are forumotion so I presume there was a problem with the server.

I'm not long in but it seems fine to me just now. Is it OK for you now.? As 3rd Forum says, it's probably Forumotion doing something in the background.

Don't panic it was out and I tried a few of their forums and all the same, I think the server had some issues or some work going on. Back OK now.

Re: Is the forum running slow
For me, it's gradually been getting slower since all the Christmas stuff was added. :Angry 1:
I have an up to date PC with a fast connection and it most definitely doesn't happen on any other websites I view.
I had my IT Support guy check the problem out and he says that a combination of music and graphics on a webpage will slow the pageload down considerably.
He also mentioned that anyone with an older PC or a slow connection will not be able to use this website properly.

I have 2 laptops and a netpad all under 18 months old and this is the slowest I have known the forum, obviously I can now get on but the twirly thing at the top that says each page is loading is taking ages.
Internet connection here is nowhere near as good as the UK but mine isn´t bad at 7mbps although Telefonica tell me I get 10mbps
LR we have just finished DINNER !!

Tea comes in a cup, or a mug if you're not posh.

Re: Is the forum running slow
And santa's boot has got the boot...(it's an swf file). Now we really only have the music and the scroll bar which is what we have had for most of the time anyway.
