Lockdown #3
Here we go again........ Flights cancelled, Trackday cancelled. Both rebooked for end Feb so fingers crossed. Think I am in 4th group for jabs and Boris says before mid Feb. So, on or before valentines day then you better not let me down! Poor Reg stuck in Tenerife. Feck all to do except eat and get pisssed. When I get out there for next winter I will have projects on the go to keep me busy. Patsy has taken to retirement well. Lazy bitch is doing feck all.

Re: Lockdown #3
In Eileen's hospital, last March, they had one covid ward and one spill over. At the moment they have 3 full wards and the 4th is half full. she will be transferred over to one of those tomorrow.

Re: Lockdown #3
Sunday I was speaking to one of the girls who does quiz with us, one of her friends is a nurse in a Manchester hospital, her friend (the nurse) is saying she is bored senseless at work,,, she's saying only busy wards in her hospital are those dealing with Covid,,, and that all other wards are virtually empty as only emergency patients are being admitted, no routine stuff happening...
Then today I read this article on BBC news site:-

Re: Lockdown #3
Then today I'm reading BBC website article below saying hospitals are running under capacity compaired to same period last year ..
Then at same time as I'm reading the article the BBC news comes on the radio saying hospitals are at breaking point...
Which do you believe ?

Re: Lockdown #3
With reference to above two articles,,, if what my friends friend the nurse is saying in that the hospital she works in is empty apart from Covid wards hospital capacity figures must be down,,, and like how Dermos wife Eileen is being moved (not that I would fancy it) to a Covid ward makes sence,,, use the facilities/staff you've got...
When you think of it they kit out all them Nightingale Hospitals, only one used the one in the London at the Excell Center, 4000 beds, and only about 20 used, and that was a publicity stunt at the start of Covid, but they started decommissioning it at same time at the new fast spreading Covid virus was announced,,,,, why ???
Possibly because they knew they had existing capacity in existing hospitals ???
Interesting bit in that last BBC article I posted, they put positive, negitive, and unknown Covid patents in same ward,,,,

Re: Lockdown #3
You have to remember Adam that not all nurses are trained or skilled to be able to work on these kind of high dependence wards. Would you like to be cared for by somebody who has skills on orthopedic wards but never has even stepped into ICU and HD wards except for a couple of days during training? Of course some parts of the hospitals are mostly quite as all staff who are skilled enough or being up skilled are being used in the wards dealing with the virus. I would expect the nurse you know would be welcome with open arms if she volunteer to work in these areas if she is bored where she is at moment as I expect Ds wife was allocated to that ward and had no choice.
As for the Nightingale Hospitals there was never enough staff needed to cover the extra beds promised in the first place and on top of that as none for them had theaters etc so unable to take routine ops.

Re: Lockdown #3
Yes, ICU and HD wards need/meant to be staffed by specialists. Thats the problem. 25% of frontline staff here are out with either Covid or close contacts and have to isolate. Eileen got her jab today, so a little relief maybe. All elective surgery has been cancelled nationwide so that frees up other wards for covid. Prob is, they are now sending untrained staff HD wards as they have no choice

I know I'm gonna get in trouble for this but here goes...
As long as the nurse treating me has got a decent pair of knockers I wouldn't give a shit..

Re: Lockdown #3
Just to remind you Reg if you return after next Tuesday you will need a negative Covid Test within 72 hrs of taken off or you will not be allowed on the plane. Take care.

About time too. Let no foreigners in! Nothing to see here, UK is closed. O'Leary was on BBC this morning, not a happy bunny. I have zero sympathy.

Jeez, if I delete the second one it will probably delete both so I shall leave it. I blame the alcohol abuse.
