Because of those hurricanes over the holiday period we have suffered devastating damage to our external overhead network. (BT phonelines). So we have ALL been informed this week that the company is invoking "Contractual Overtime". Which means I HAVE to work the next 6 Saturdays in a row. I will get paid overtime but that's not the point. I don't do overtime...I can get by without it so I'm not looking forward to this one little bit! Mermaid is peeved because I always take her out for a meal on Saturdays!
At the end of it all will be the same old company line too..."Thanks everyone for going the extra mile, but remember we can't let up and need to improve over the coming year...yadah yadah yadah!

No! we went to Harveys for a drink and then walked back up the road to the place next to the Chinese (can´t think of its name). Cru had Cajun chicken, salad and chips and I had a burger (left the bun) salad and chips. It was really nice.

I have to get 3 things to come together:

    1. Can I get the leave on those dates? (Just having the leave available isn't enough. If too many people are off on those dates, I won't get it. It's automated)
    2. Is there a flight at the right price? (Again, I won't pay above a certain limit and they have to match the leave dates).
    3. Is accommodation available? (This is trickier. I like private, but the "Illegal lettings" thingy is scaring folks. Again all the dates have to marry).

I'll have a look on some websites later. (Kev, that site you sent me doesn't fly to Tenerife from Edinburgh or Glasgow. Bummer!)

Cam (or anyone), I've got contact details for 2 owners that are still letting . The only thing is that it is in the Puerto Santiago/Los Gigantes area. These people have withdrawn their ads on the letting websites. ( and they are also 2 bed apartments)
