This afternoon I decided to add a load of contacts to OH's email. I asked him for his password and he gave me this load of gobbledegook. What the hell is that and how can you possibly remember it.

Easy it's my Army number. He left the Army in 1969.

I thought it was strange, he thought it was strange that I had no idea what my National Insurance No was. Or the number of my bank account.

Are you good at remembering numbers? Do you know your NI number or Army/Navy number if you were in the services?

    Is it a man thing?

I think it's a man (services) thing! My OH can remember all sorts of silly things, like his post code from a zillion years ago, his service number etc, such a pity he forgot to buy eggs and milk yesterday Do you remember odd things? 506932706

All ex-service people will remember their number Gypsy.

They've had to shout it out so many times in their life that it's etched into their brain.

The same with the number a 252 - that's one to be wary of.

I really struggle with bank card pin number have to really think and have to use loading bay to get into work because front door has one of those code access pads and can never remember the numbers I'm given.

I remember my Gran's divi number 13780, but I can´t remember my mums, something like 24883 or it might have been 24663.

I was sent this the other day. How many do you remember.

    Older Than Dirt Quiz:
Count all the ones that you remember, not the ones you were told about.
    Ratings at the bottom.

    1. Sweet cigarettes
    2. Coffee shops with juke boxes
    3. Home milk delivery in glass bottles
    4. Party lines on the telephone
    5. Newsreels before the movie
    6. TV test patterns that came on at night after the last show and were there until TV shows started again in the morning.. (There were only 2 channels[if you were fortunate])
    7. Peashooters
    8.. 33 rpm records
    9. 45 RPM records
    10.78 RPM records
    11. Hi-fi's
    12. Metal ice trays with levers
    13. Blue flashbulb
    14. Cork popguns
    15. Wash tub wringers
    16. Spud guns
    17. Making your own bow and arrows
    18. Going out to play and going home at 'meal time'

If you remembered 0-3 = you're still young
If you remembered 3-6 = You are getting older
If you remembered 7-11 = Don't tell your age
If you remembered 12-15 = You're positively ancient!
I must be 'positively ancient' but those memories are some of the best parts of my life.

I remember them all except the ice tray with levers. We never had a fridge until I was in secondary school.

I remember the bloody lot, mud pies, ant sandwiches for the orrid kid in the street, fixed wheel bikes and lace on roller skates. Tin and early plastic soldiers, stereogram with radio, record player and b/w tv. How about watching colour tv through someones curtains, I expect the pervs on here still do.

Yeah, that would probably equate to the army's punishment of sweeping the square with toothbrushes! Pointless but instilled discipline so when they said GO! you went!
