Just looking at some reports today and I've worked out that Ireland will receive 77 billion in bailout money. 63 billion of this is to pay back French and German banks to cover their losses on lending to Irish banks (wtf???), 5 billion to the UK government who were the only ones to lend money to invest in the economy ( makes sense as we are the UK's 4th biggest customer and thank you very much) and the other 9 billion is in interest repayments. Now, if a country needs 77 billion in a bailout and only 5 billion is reinvested in the economy, how in the hell is a country meant to pay back the rest? And if thats bad, what was the point in giving Greece 250 billion ( again going straight to banks/hedge funds) and their economy is in freefall??
