K9 Charity Night

I wasn´t around last night as we went to the K9 Charity do at Our Place in Costa del Silencio. The lovely Aidy Evans organised it so as well as helping the dogs it would also give some entertainers who are new to the island a chance to be seen and hopefully get them work on the circuit.

The only well known entertainer was Pip Brown who was followed by Brad Chermside who has been here just 6 weeks, he did a great Robbie Williams after him came Leslie Presley no need to say what he did (he needs to work on his diction but had a nice voice) a young woman Becky Brooks brilliant voice and knew just how to work an audience. I found out afterwards that she can sing with a live band and she loves blues and jazz. I gave her my card so I am hoping she will get in touch as I know who would snap her up for work - we will have to see how keen she is as to whether she contacts me or not. The night ended with Gordon Ridgely nice and smooth. Between each act Aidy did his fantastic comparing and anyone who has seen him knows he does a great Gene Pitney, Roy Orbison and of course Dion and the Everlys so my kinda music.

We had a good night, it looked as if quite a bit of money was raised, not heard back from Mikey yet but things seemed to be doing OK. One raffle prize, the hair straighteners, was won twice each time by bald guys so we will be starting off the next charity event with 1 prize in store !!!

Sounded like a great night and such a good thing for both parties, charity and newbies.

Just heard from Mikey and although the bar is small, and some of you also know Costa del Silencio is not much into high life, we still managed to raise €325 everyone was very generous.
