My Latest Visit Empty My Latest Visit

    Post by Topdog Sun 22 Apr 2012 - 23:47

My latest visit to Tenerife was great. We met some very nice people from this forum who will hopefully end up long term friends.
Had some great times with old friends too.
We took Danielle our lovely friend and her twins to Monkey park and the had a stroll along the front at Los Cris. The kidz had an Ice Cream after lunch and Alfie, who is 4 was covered from head to toe in chocolat.
We had many a great night with people from the forum and one afternoon we had just parked up in San Telmo to sit and chill for an hour and there were Mermaid and Lone Ranger. We all sat out looking over the beach for a couple of lovely hours.
Reg and his wife Janet were regulars as we were staying close by and my Jan and Reg's Jan seemed to get on very well.
We drove down to see Vince one day but all missed, never mind met the Big man next day and glad I did.
Gypsy is as many know, lovely and her OH a great chap with a dry sense of humour.
We drove to the Sanitorium one day and I walked up to the derelict Church, which was spookie.
Popped in to see Mike Carlton a couple of times, bumped in to Paul(Billy Idol) in the street and saw a great old friend Adam Saint
who we sat chatting with for ages,(Adam is the best Rod Stewart tribute around).
Ate loads and drank a fair bit.
Had a cream tea in The Cozy Cafe.
One evening was great when we bumped in to a guy I have liked but never met. This chap I had some great banter with on TF and we also had a couple of very good private conversations.
I always thought he may be a nice guy but I was wrong, Seanocelt is a lot more than a nice guy, blinding bloke and every bit a pro musician/singer.

I was meant to go to one of seanocelt's gigs when I was over but never got the chance...It transpired we were in Nancy Spains at the same time for the rugby.
As you say he seems to be a top lad and I will go to one of his gigs next time.

We were in Claddah and he took the stage, instantly he had a girl on a whistle playing. Cam said who he was although neither had ever met. Sean did not know who Cam was and it was funny as he ask does anyone else play instruments, we said "Campbell plays the Harmonica".
He laughed and said Cam the Harmonica man, I don't believe it. The rest is History.

It is the Lapper Colony that was built but before it was finished Leprosy as ruled out. The whole town just sits derelict, it is eary and very dis-orientating. My Latest Visit 6779896958_b90148c615_m

Kev, I meant to ask, did you get over to La Gomera? If so, what was it like? Going to visit one of the other islands in the summer, probably Lanzarote cos the kids would like that Timanfaya trip, but haven't decided for definite yet.

Nah didn't get across, got too busy. Lanza OK, didn't like the resorts much. The trips up he Mountain are great especially for the kidz, but you still got loads to do on the real rock.

Evening.. Main rock Tenerife, the one the pilots can see above the clouds easy. Must have been a relief in the old days before beacons and sat-nav. All that ocean........

The one pissed pilots hit first.

Leper colony from Los Gig, Dermo. Head towards airport, keep going to the Abades turn off. Drive down to bottom end of Abades car park and walk along beach and up through.
You can take the next turn off and head towards the lighthouse and walk out but a long walk.

Excuse me waiter, can I have some bread to dip in my friends neck.
