Cursed alright, must be one hell of a burden being born into that family.
We watched that drama that was on not long ago about them, very interesting especially the part the dad played in driving the family to be what they were.

Joe senior wasn't your ordinary crook.
He was close to the mafia yet couldn't be "made" because of his Irish/American background.

I probably mentioned this before, but there are a few pubs around the country where you will find a Cheque from Charlton, framed, hanging on the wall. He used to pay for his drinks at the end of the night by cheque, knowing there was a good chance it would never be cashed! Crafty Geordie!!

My granfather was something similar.

The one that scared the shite out of me was that bloody sacred heart picture thingy with the burning flame in the heart....there was one in the bedroom and the light flickered while the Big Yin looked down upon you..brrrrrr creepy.

Some pub that. On wed, thurs fri sat and Sun nights , when they were busy, it could be 4 deep at the bar. Inside the counter, you'd have a bloke standing on a bar stool taking orders from those at the back of the scrum. Pints would be passed out over the heads of the other people. You would go up to buy a couple of pints and sit back down wearing about 4 of them. The Guinness there was very strong. I'd get rat arsed on about 6 pints of the stuff. Ah.....great days!

No, if we do we stay in Lucan ( on the western side of the city, where we used to live). Never go out in the city anymore. Might do in July though, I'm going to the Stone Roses concert
