Ryanair strikes again
We all know the shite we have to put up with regarding Ryanair, but because they are so much cheaper than their rivals, we put up with it. Now, they have gone and changed our departure time not by a couple of hours but by 13 hours! Instead of arriving at 11.00am ( therefore being able to spend the day as part of our holidays) we now won't touch down until 23.45. we're now going to lose a day effectively. They were willing to give me a refund ( allow 6 weeks for refund). If we cancelled and rebooked, the price around the same time is now 800 euro more. Next cheapest price with another airline is 1100 more. Wankers!

Re: Ryanair strikes again
Have a read of your Travel Insurance policy - you might just have some sort of cover for a delay/cancellation of that timespan.
Good luck.

Re: Ryanair strikes again
Already did Jim, its only effective on day of departure and Ryanair reserve the right to change their flight times at any stage up til day of dearture. If they change the times by more than 3 hours, a full refund is offered but they know you are already tied in and the later they leave these changes the more expensive travel becomes in general.

Re: Ryanair strikes again
They have obviously changed the Schedule D. Planes I use to tf either leave at about 7am or 2pm. Get at least 2 longish trips out of one plane per day then they do. Personally I like the afternoon ones. Doesnt interfere with my sleep pattern!!!! And get back to uk about 11pm, perfect. Bit off topic but just ordered hire car from AutoReisen for 14th April for 7 days today, just 77€. Cheap as chips.

Re: Ryanair strikes again
Would anyone know if that Hyperdino in La Chafiras is 24 hour? ( or can anyone point me to a 24 hour supermarket( preferably along the motorway to Los Gigantes)?)

No 3f the large supermarkets close at 9.30 or 10.00pm The only one I know that is 24 hours is here, 5 mins off the motorway at Los Cristianos . [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Take the Los Cris exit, drive down dual-carriageway to roundabout (fountain) then take a right along the dual carriageway, take the next exit it is a bit of a strange junction but go straight ahead and the supermarket is on the left. As you come out head back to Los Cris and you are soon back on the motorway.

Thanks Cam, see what I mean about a strange junction, you have someone coming out, which you have to drive past then go straight ahead when it feels more natural to continue round. OK, so it is possibly a girl thing.

Re: Ryanair strikes again
Got this in an e-mail from Ryanair today...looks like they're going to charge me more to cover Spanish airport charge increase...
Dear Customer
In relation to your flight reference ********
Ryanair has been advised by the Spanish Government of a budgetary proposal to
increase airport charges later this month.
In accordance with our General Terms and Conditions of Travel* we are advising
customers with a reservation that includes a flight departing from a Spanish
airport that we may be forced to debit passengers for any government imposed
increases in airport charges prior to your travel date.
Once the Spanish government budget is published Ryanair will advise affected
passengers by email of any additional airport charges that may apply to your
reservation before any charges are made.
Please see our website for updates regarding increases in Spanish airport
charges.
Yours sincerely
Ryanair Customer Service
• 4.2.2 Taxes, fees and charges imposed on air travel are constantly changing
and can be imposed after the date that your reservation has been made. If any
such tax, fee or charge is introduced or increased after your reservation has
been made you will be obliged to pay it (or any increase) prior to departure.
Similarly, if any such tax, fee or charge is abolished or reduced such that it
no longer applies to you, or a lesser amount is due, you will be entitled to
claim a refund of the difference from us.

Re: Ryanair strikes again
Yeah, he's married Vince, lives in a mansion outside Mullingar, a town in the midlands whose only claim to fame is that Joe Dolan was from there ( some of you older folks might remember him ). His pastime apart from making millions is horse racing. All of his horses have military names e.g. War of Attrition which is ironic as thats exactly whats its like boarding one of his planes.

My mate Derek who's the keyboard player in Celtic Confusion at The Irish Times is from Trim, County Meath. Lots of good musicians from that area.
