Olympic Torch carriers/bearers !
Can someone explain why if 'we' (the isle of Great Britain or at least the mainland) are staging the Olympics and there's been all this torch carrying malarky why have/are Will.i.am & Drogba carrying the torch

Maybe the organisers thought it would be a good idea to have him represent other countries that are taking part, or maybe by his text on Twitter, Coca Cola had some say :sulk2:

Some of those security people running along side I think go over the top with pushing people out of the way. It is just a thing that is lit

Re: Olympic Torch carriers/bearers !
that would be funny.
I have to laugh how at some areas there are only 3 and then others 5 or 6 running along side the torch carrier.Have you seen when they put the flame into the lamp? The way they carry it and then when they get to the next stage they come running out again.

Re: Olympic Torch carriers/bearers !
Well after all my whinging about it, I've taken a halfer on Friday to see the torch virtually pass my front door.
Been lots of complaints locally, when its was announced that of the 10 torch bearers carrying it through my home town (quite how it will take 10 on the route there taking beats me, unless there taking about 200 steps each) only 1 is from the town and has any connection to the town !, we've even got 2 foreigners carrying it.
The local county council has gone into overdrive, we've had all road markings on the route repainted since the weekend, replaced all damaged road signs knocked down a derelict bus shelter and tarmacked it over.
At 8am Saturday gone, council workers were planting up all flower beds on route, trees have been trimmed last night & the grass cutters were out because it was a dry night.
Now don't know about your local council but ours always appears to cut grass in the rain therefore leaving grass cuttings all over the shop but no not when the flame is coming they cut when it was dry and even collected up the cuttings.
No cars are allowed to be parked on the kerb of houses on route, they have to be moved elsewhere from 9am Friday until 5pm.
The world will be watching on Friday and Northumberland County Council want everywhere to be seen in the best light possible.
