    Assuming they survived, they would be well into their 80s now. (If they also survived things like cancer, heart attacks etc). I would have thought one of them would have blabbed by now if they were still alive...

    I think your right LR...to get them out of the country would have took about,at least,twenty people coming into contact with them,and surely little bits and pieces would have made its way to the cops or press.
