I can't remember the name of the convention to stop the killing of whales and dolphins etc. but Japan didn't sign it. They say they kill so many for scientific purposes. Being an island nation, it's just food to them.

I was protesting against Japan slaughtering whales in the late 1960s. It took until the mid 80s before the IWC introduced a ban on commercial whaling but needless to say the Japanese took no notice and still continue today. Disgusting. Although I haven´t opened CC's link as I find that sort of thing too distressing.

Slaughter of the innocents. I was watching a documentary this week about dolphins. We've always known that they were intelligent ( apparently the same intelligence as a 5 year old child) but it now appears they are self aware along with ourselves, elephants and gorillas. Makes it all the worse really
