I have, this morning, paid the balance of our hols to China if I had paid by credit card they would have added 1.5% of the total. That would have been something like 120 quid as if things aren't expensive enough, so I paid by debit card and there were no extras, how come Airlines to include card charges 3275847336

At a guess, I'd say that the charges on credit cards are for checking that the card has sufficient clearance to allow the transaction to go through. As far as I know, online usage of credit cards has to be verified first. The credit card companies charge a fee for this check ( about 25 cent per check, nowhere near the £6 charged by Ryanair PER PERSON, even though if a family books a trip, then the credit card is only used once). A debit card doesn't have to be checked so therefore no charge.

With Easyjet the £9 charge is per booking so it is cheaper for people who are booking for more than one.
