    Just got back tonight after staying 2 nights in The Cuillin Hills Hotel Portree, the capital of Skye. (It's a really small town but very nice).

    it was dry so I went up the Quirang and left Mermaid in the car...

    All in all, we had a great time and I would recommend the Coullin Hills Hotel to anybody. It was a great place to stay!

    Why's that thatched cottage called a "blackhouse"?

    I was told they were called that with the Highland people we used to holiday with in Wester Ross. The woman was a native Gaelic speaker too.
