Would seem the microphones the refs wear only link with linesmen/women and fourth official, and comments are not recorded.
Recall watching a rugby match where the refs comments are broadcast, the two teams had a mass brawl on the pitch, knocked shit out of each other, ref calls the two team captains aside and has a word with them; “Have a word with your lads to calm it a bit and lets get on with the game ok”............ No lawyers, enquiries, court cases etc...
