3rd may be able to help here.

Works lottery (well our department's syndicate) has come up woefully short this year £20 winnings luckily we put the other £3 in a kitty to cover a night our supplemented with our winnings.

Another department have played the Irish lottery and everyone (8 of them I believe) got a £100 pay out and had some left in kitty.

We've decided to give it a go but when lad tried to explain it I was well confused. Irish Lottery eh how does that work !!!! 2931609686

3rd can you ABC it for me in laymen's terms
How do we play it etc etc...

Not sure what you mean Blyth but here are a few things about the Irish Lottery.
The main draw has 45 numbers but there are also 2 ancillary draws called Lotto plus. Its entirely up to yourself if you wish to play these extra draws but if you do, it costs an extra 50 cent per entry . You use the same numbers for all 3 draws. However, the top prize for the extra draws is 250000 euro. This doesn't change. I, myself, never bother playing the Lotto Plus. The prizes ( on all draws ) obviously decrease depending on how many numbers you have. I'm not sure how you go about playing the Irish lottery in the UK though??
