Re: New Rules for Guachinches
I understand where the licensed restaurants are coming from but the Guachinches are part of the local culture and IMO need to stay as they are otherwise everything just becomes too sanitized - I suppose money will be involved and they will be looking at ways to hit them for taxes.

I've never been in one. Are they cheap? Have to be I suppose if they cater to the locals.

Re: New Rules for Guachinches
They are home-made! people set them up in their backyards, garages living rooms and just serve up the odd meal and probably some lethal home brew, so they are very cheap as they have no overheads.

I've only ever been in one, and the toilet was fine but the hand basin was in the garden. The old guy who served us our drinks was in his slippers.

Much as I have sympathy for them, if that was in the UK, they'd be shut down instantly due to European H&S rules. Is it only us who abide by these feckin' rules?

Yes.
Yes other countries use common sense but the Brits do everything by the book however ridiculous it might be.
