Tenerife South Markets Empty Tenerife South Markets

Post by Urban Provocation Mon 28 Jan 2013 - 8:36

    Hey all
From reading through the forum it seems like most of you have been here for a long time. So I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice.
We want to start selling at the markets our Tshirts. So we have asked 1000 people (maybe a slight exageration weather ), anyways we have asked the LC market, Adeje market people and market sellers (not so keen to give much away though) on how to get a stall. We are in the process of setting up the legalities of autonomous but we want to start now not wait for the papers. They say we have 4 free. But then we hear we cant do LC or Adeje without doing some small markets first. Also we hear that most have been doing it illegal for years. Is there a trick here to get a stall? My wife lived in Vietnam and had business for 10 years so corruption money is normal for her. Is it that way here? I speak spanish so i am not missing any words from them but i just cant grasp the whole going on's. Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    M

I don´t even go to the markets never mind know how to get a stall there. But I do remember reading this on another forum

    >>>to have a market stall on the big markets Los Chris,El Medano,Del Douque ect, you need to be self employed legally and be paying into the system. Once all your paperwork is in order, you can visit the market traders office who will then issue you a card. To do all this, you will need your Residencia. Without this, you will not get on. <<<

A lady called Sharon who has Pets at Home has/had a stall. She is very nice so may be able to tell you this is the facebook page [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

On second thoughts it might be Cats Welfare which is [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I will try and remember to ask Cru when I see her next I know she is a friend of Sharons.

Interesting as we contacted the market directly and they said you can do 4 times without papers, that was LC. Then we heard from others that you can only do the small markets for the 4 times without papers not LC, Adeje etc. We have tried contacting the market office direct many times and they never ever pick up the phone (must have the same phone line as the foreign office in Santa Cruz Tenerife South Markets 506932706 )..Spoke to some of the office traders at Adeje and he was very rude didnt want to tell us much at all..Ahhhh another one of those 'hard basket' times. Thanks if anyone has any other info please let me know, I dont really want to lug 500 tshirts down to a market they refuse me in Tenerife South Markets 2419626307 ... If I have any updates i will post you all. Cheers M

There is a t-shirt stall in the Alcala market. ( Can't remember what days it runs on ). I was going to say to ask the owner for advice, but you probably wouldn't get much help.

The Treehouse, Chayofa often has small sales there is one on 3rd Feb and you can get a stall. Sorry threw the paper away with the phone number someone called Ruth has the info. But if you give Simon the owner a call he will tell you who to contact his number is 922 729 650 I think it is quite good because a lady I know Alice often goes up there, she sells, clothes, home-made bags etc.

I haven´t been to any, just know Alice does them from time to time and as she is a Yorkshire lass she wouldn´t waste her time if they were crap. I only found out this time because we went to the Quiz on Thursday and I saw it and thought of Cru. Gave her the details but don't think she is interested so threw the bit of paper away.

Hi Matt and of course TD take note

Going back to the Treehouse - they are running it 1st Saturday every month, and stalls are free. I didn´t know until walking the dog past there and a lady I know Sue was organising it, she does lots of markets now (flowers and sewing). It ran from 3 - 5 and everyone there seemed to do well. Spotted Alice as she was leaving and she had had a good day.

We will be away next month but will give it a try in April, so fingers crossed.
