Matt
Thanks for the update - I will delete the small Los Cris one from my blog. Whereabouts is the Torviscas market held, and where are you going for the Adeje one is that the biggish one opposite the Adeje Gran?

Re: Tenerife South Markets
Hey guys,
It's Tif, Matt's wife, we are take teaming on this one
He forgot to mention it was me who pushed us to stay, I felt sorry to leave the other stall holders... and then there were 3
The Torviscos market is somewhere near the san eugino shopping centre on the top, a big white building. We are not familiar with that area , but neither was the taxi, he took us round and round and round and wasnt sure either. But now we can see how :hang:
Yes the adeje market is the big one, it is on Thursdays and Saturdays, 9am-2pm so fingies X, then we are going to give the Golf Del Sur market a try on Friday..not sure where that is either .. We dont get out much ... More we dont have our own transport at the moment so its more difficult
Bye tif

Re: Tenerife South Markets
If it is still very windy on Thursday then I would give Adeje a miss. We were there once and it became dangerous with the heavy wind. I think where you are saying the Torviscas one is must be the old Torviscas market by playa Torviscas.

Re: Tenerife South Markets
You need to be autonomo then contact Baratillos los Verdes, in Torviscas 922 716867 if you are going to do it legally for a living. If you just want to sell car boot stuff then go along to Chafiras and speak to people who have stalls there on a Sunday (I think). Sure others will know more as I personally don´t like markets other than the farmers markets where I get my veg.

Re: Tenerife South Markets
Website in English Not the Ayuntamineto but the people who run markets. But you will need to contact your local council if you are going self-employed 'autonomo' I dont´know what is involved as I have never worked here but TopDog will be able to tell you how to do all that as he started up a business.

Re: Tenerife South Markets
No there are so many great places, but NOT in a resort, you will pay over the top to live amongst tourists and possible noise. Move a few miles out and you get the benefit of both worlds, peace quiet and close enough to pop down to a resort for a knees up when you feel like it and not because you can't escape it.

Oy we are posh up ere!
But if you don't want to blow all your budget you can get really nice places in Cabo Blanco and Valle San Lorenzo which are both on bus routes. Yeah I live in Chayofa but you do need a car otherwise it can be a a bit of a trek to the main road to catch the bus if you are loaded down with shopping. Lots of people live in Llano de Camella close to Las Chafiras nice houses but quite a few commercial properties too so exceptionally good prices to both buy and rent.
It really depends on the type of lifestyle you are wanting. The further inland you go the more Canarian it gets and of course apart from needing a car to get around the cheaper it is to live.
