Mobile in Tenerife

I am sure someone will say this had been covered already but I am anyway so here goes. I am off over there in May (yippee) and I have an IPad so I shall be able to contact one of my family by facetime when I get there, depending on wifi. But I do need phone contact also. The last time I was over my phone bill was over £100 for two weeks. What is the cheapest way to do a mobile over there? Unlock my own phone and buy a sim there? If so which is the best. I must admit I text more than call and obviously it needs to be the cheapest for peeps to text and phone me back. And yes I know I am a bloody nuisance LOL x all ideas (and critisms) accepted LOL

Nope because the people I need to contact have no access to it, thanks anyway

Is it an Iphone, if so get all those on IPHONE, to download VIBER and you do the same. If not what network you with and are these family in the UK

I have a bog standard Nokia without Internet access. All my family have either an iPhone or a blackberry.

Mines a bog standard Nokia too, I just want a phone that i can use anywhere, Janet said i should get a tablet ?.

If you have an ipad and the rest of your family have iphones and blackberrys, they/you should be able to use skype. ( You don't necessarily have to use video calling when using skype)
