No tax on personal goods as they are secondhand. Tax on my stock is paid as IGIC I believe, may be wrong. I will declare my stuff though as it could cost more for admin otherwise.

I kid you not, your first statement is wrong. There was a long thread about it elsewhere about 2 years ago. I thought it incredulous at the time but hey, thats Canaries for you.

Re: Los Cristianos Market. Come See Us!
Yeah importing into the canaries is a nightmare! We have imported our T's all my gear for my set up of Spa Mantra and it doesnt matter what you have you get charged both VAT and IGIC and the paperwork is rediculous. SO I hope you have better luck than us. I even had some products from the usa I bought from overseas be refused by customs 'without notification' and returned to the seller and they were actually for personal use. A friend of ours moved from France to canaries a month ago and also used a freight company. In there large stack of goods they had 2 cartons of wine, 4 new bottles of perfume, some moisturizing creams unopened and they were all taken from them. Matt had a ring sent to him from his papa from france as a birthday present, all the paperwork was there, tax paid in france and Matt had to pay at this end TAX and IGIC total 180euro for a 850euro ring and the hassle again of customs paperwork. We now use an intermediate to ease the process and still have to pay but the goods come in quicker and less headache from us. Customs have held some items for over a month also, they are so slow. With this company he charges around 40euros for his service, only if you recieve the goods and manages the paperwork and customs before your stock hits customs which brings everything in quicker. His name is Roman [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. You can just email him the details or ask him advise he is great and doesnt charge unless you recieve your goods. Cheers T. Oh and I forgot the transport companies loose all their rights once your goods hit customs they cannot control at all.

Re: Los Cristianos Market. Come See Us!
Thanks, we are using a Tenerife shipping company for door to door service. They pack and unpack and its all our goods like own clothing, furniture and ornaments. We also have stock, which I will declare and pay Igic on.
According to the guy it should be straight forward as all listed by them and pre sent so paperwork is sorted before goods arrive.
Makes you wonder how the Chinese get by then.

Documentation
Importing Personal Effects to Tenerife
If you are moving to the Canary Islands from
within the EU, you can import most of your
goods without any formalities, the only restriction
is that you must have paid tax or VAT
at purchase or owned the goods for more than
6 months. As the Canary Islands are part of the EU,
EU citizens do not require a visa to enter the country.
Hunts and our agents will assist you with completion of customs formalities. To assist us with this please let us have a copy of your passport. The required documentation will be supplied to you on arrival. To avoid any potential additional charges and delays at customs clearance, it is advisable that relevant forms are completed and returned promptly to our Agents. The most important requirement is your NIE (National Identification Certificate) that is issued by the local police department.
Prohibitions and Restrictions
In general it is in your interest not to import the following items:
• Firearms & ammunition
• Inflammable goods & substances
• Plants & plant material
• Foodstuffs, perishables or otherwise
• Narcotics and dangerous goods
• Offensive materials
• Alcohol & Tobacco

Re: Los Cristianos Market. Come See Us!
Sorry us ladies are in Los Cris today.
Didnt you say you don´t have transport?? That's a hell of a journey if you are having to use taxis. You need to speak with our latest member I was looking at his website yesterday, great monthly rates far better than I paid even 8 years ago while waiting for our (then)new car!!! See if he has anything suitable available.
