Man dies after accident in Los Abrigos

A man died last night after being hit by a vehicle while riding a skateboard in the municipality of San Miguel.

The incident occurred about 23.45 hours, when CECOES received an alert that a person on a skateboard on the TF-65, in the Los Abrigos, had been hit by a car and was trapped under it.

The above is from Europa Press and while it is very sad and I feel for the person's family, it beggars the question, who the hell in their right mind would be on a main road on a skateboard at that time of night. I bet the driver wondered what the hell he had hit because I can´t see the skateboard having lights.

They get off the bus and scateboard down from Las Chafiras, all down hill innit. Seen it a few times. Now if I had run someone down and they were under the car I think I might reverse off them. Difficult to breathe with a car on you.

Turns out it wasn't a skateboard but actually a motor scooter, not sure of full details but sadly was the entertainer, Fife Sinclaire that lost his life as a result of this accident :(

He was a singer, worked in Tenerife for many years, then did a stint in Gran Canaria and returned to Tenerife last year. Very well known and respected amongst the other entertainers here. He sang for us at a recent works staff do at Flamingo Club and was superb, putting on a really good show for us with a complete mix of songs.

Thanks for the update Stephen, I have not heard of him either but that doesn´t make it less sad.
