Fortunately I missed all of the storm but from what I have started to read it sounds as if it as a bad one. Maybe not as bad as 2007 which we also managed to be away for (sun shines on the righteous) but it would seem from what I have read that the West took the worst of if. I was reminded about it because our latest member says they like Playa San Juan which was badly affected during the first tropical storm (I will try later to find some of the photos from then) but again it sounds as if their beach has been badly damaged and in need of many thousands of Euros worth of repair work. I wonder is that a sign that if a beach is natural you should leave it that way and not try to prettify it to suit tourists?
I also see that a tourist was killed by falling rocks while walking in La Gomera while it is sad I just wonder what makes people feel they are invincible especially if they have been specifically advised not to 'go there' - if they wish to do something dangerous they should but they don´t consider that others (the innocent) also have to get involved because of their decisions.
