Funeral today. Invite seems to have got lost in the post, probably sent it with DX, bad move.
Anyway just to say how proud to be English today, we are burying one of the greatest. Good to see the Queen will be in attendance along with all those world leaders past and present. Shame they couldnt save it until next Tuesday really, just for the English.

I was no fan of hers but I'll give her due credit for helping to bring down the iron curtain. Now the only problem is the huge influx claiming benefits in the west. I'll say this, I can't imagine the UK's borders being so "open" if she was still in power.

Said it before people moan about what she did but no politician since has had the balls to do owt about it. She was the last leader of the Uk that led, not saying she led correctly or wrongly but at least she did it as a leader. Al prime ministers since have been run by the financial institutions and do gooders.

Margaret Thatcher saved the U.K. from a massive communist infiltration by the unions, i saw first hand just what sort of power the unions weilded. Yes mining communities were ravaged but the mining industry was slowly dying in this country, many miners were dying prematurely from lung related illness's and coal was becoming a dirty, polluting, and redundant source of power. Arthur Scargill was typical of the 'Champagne and Jaguar communist brigade', they forced their union members into non-paid union strikes whilst they lived in the lap of luxury, extremety had to be met with extremety and Thatcher faced reality in the face of overwhelming opposition. As for the rest, Hillsborough, The Falklands and the Poll Tax, the truth may emerge but until it does i would rate her as a strong and dilligent politician who actualy loved the U.K. and was strong enough and proud enough to defend it's independance.
