A man has received compensation from Ryan Air when he discovered that the price he paid for flights to Croatia in GBP was 46% more expensive than the same flight in Euros. It may be worthwhile checking on non-UK sites (Irish Republic in English) whether the same flight is cheaper in euros, and this applies for all airlines.

You need a proxy IP address for this to work. Also, if you are just finding out how much a flight costs, leave the website and come back to it later, clear your cookies first cos Ryanair will have upped the price because they know you are interested. Same applies for ferries.

Another tip is to keep windows from different airlines open at the same time. Some of the smarter cookies will tell their owners that you are looking at the competition websites and will match their prices accordingly ( These tips came from an ex I.T. employee at Ryanair)

Or check out the price when your in Spain. Friends of 3rdforum can ask him to double-check on their behalf - I´m sure he won´t mind!

Re: Ryan Air Rip-Off
its common practice as cost in one country (staff, building, social spending) can be a lot higher then in others ... all the parts that i buy for my sports car come direct from japan and cost half what i would pay in england ... as for flights i always go via the peninsula getting 50% discount and good rates as the spanish look on it as a bus service plus it flys into my local airport ...
when i get to BARCA a day or two spent their is a great break then
on a EASYJET flight to luton ...my last trip cost €45 to england ..
i ALWAYS book on the IRISH site and always pay in euros,as there are rules in euroland that you cannot be charged more on a debit card issued in one euro country then if it was issued in your own ..again maybe €10 saved there ... and flight not full of screaming children or those compaining about l€g room, which i have never had a probl€m with on budget airlin€s ...

Re: Ryan Air Rip-Off
Just booked our flights for January 2014 £320-00 from Edinburgh to T.F.S. with luggage and great flying times [0630 hrs out 12-00 hrs return] finding it very hard to get this silly grin off my face ,by the way the price is for both of us, Ryan Air and cheaper than last year

Just had a quick look to see if I could get it any cheaper on Ryanair.ie. Nope, same price, 315.92. That's a steal Bill, well done!
