    Scottish Rural News...
Love it, can’t wait for the video of the crankshaft replacement...
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-north-east-orkney-shetland-22463843

And for those interested, its the starboard engine’s crankshaft that’s given up, she’s fitted with two MaK 9M32C engines which produce 4,320 kW (5,790 hp) each, giving her a top speed of 19.3 knots (35.7 km/h; 22.2 mph).

This is a picture of a MaK 9M32C engine installed in the port position on a similar ferry.
    Scottish Rural News... Mak10

And this is what they should both sound like when in working order, ahh bliss...

Adam, a friend of mine looks after 4 massive engines in the power station of Leeds general infirmary,
I'l ask him what they are, they had some that was heap big trouble so they got binned, now the makers tend to look after them mostly, they watch the temps and power output on the tinternet from another country,?

Girl who drinks in the local designs shit like that for a Norwegian marine engine manufacturer, she's Norwegan but went to uni in Mancester studying something to do with computers, when she finished uni she took the job on on a consultancy basis, she lives Manchester as she has built up friendships here (and the beers a lot cheaper) and flys back and forward to Norway on an almost weekly basis, one of the best people in the pub to talk to when you've got a drink in you and you want a nuts and bolt conversation...

Scottish Rural News... 3025408739 Sure does I suppose. When I was a kid I could tell what car was coming just by the sound of the engine. Ooops, enough of that, I'm now off to bed. :sleep2:
