New boat makes it home.

Well impressed with this piece of kit I am! The work the guy has done on this I would describe as 'over engineered', exact opposite to the work I do then.  
Between us we jacked it up bit by bit and eventually got the trailer under it. Photo shows it just before leaving Thakeham in Sussex. Bus is a 2.5 NON turbo diesel and it struggled. First gear on one hill on the A23 in a contraflow, sorry peeps behind , just be thankful it didnt start rolling backwards! Made it home by 1am after stopping a few times to let the nearside rear wheel bearing  on the bus cool down a bit.   Had all my tools with me of course but no grease.

looks good but I agree with Reg a 4 wheel would have been better. Still you have it home now

Yip, no tread on the trailer or bus rear axle tyres,,, all scraped off on the mudguards...

Yeah but I didnt make the trailer, turned up on ebay one day, if I remember correctly it was £132. Its specifically for a MacGregor 26, says 1600kgs on the plate. Sunday, no VOSA.

Its an ex minibus and no tacho. May have had one once though which would explain why when I follow lorries that are all doing 56mph my speedo says 45!

Probably had a secondhand gearbox fitted with wrong speedo drive gear...

The charge list just gets bigger and bigger...

Rev counter packed up on the way too. Started flicking up and down then nowt. Answers on a postcard please. Its a Peugeot.

Doe's too, What happened to the Merc ?, If your going to get in trouble may aswell be in something half decent

Mate had a merc van, done a valve or something, pulls engine apart, rebuilds it, no go...
Can't work out what he's dome wrong, knows someone who knows someone who works in a merc garage, guy comes and looks at it, notices what looks like one new injector in one of the cylinders, "that's your problem mate". "Why". "Van don't recognise it, needs to be plugged in to computer at merc garage to be told its there"...

Things have moved on massively in the last 10 years, I'm very lucky my testing station can do most things, Quick plug in -Ah you need this,  

Still got the merc estate Reg. Springs not man enough for that trailer though.
