Anyway, having recovered, needed something tasty, so watched "Come Dine With  Me" for some inspiration,  twat made French onion soups with chicken stock,  ... and a no bad bit of totty, (not Jilly Fitsgerald) done something with a lamb shank, so off I head to Associated Dairies, I had no subliminal tendencies, but a bag of onions the size of a football pitch for £1.67 and lamb shanks on a special deal, I suddenly had a meal in mind, saved a fortune with these fantastic deals,,, put a bottle of red in with the lamb shanks, and bit more of another  in the soup, all in all cooked with more wine than I drunk ...

Sounds good minty, I lurve lamb shanks and make a real nice white onion sauce to go with them.

While I was at it made today's diner at the same time, well prepped it, beef, shallots, carrot, turnip, mushrooms, bourguignon sauce mix  and some red wine, put it all in the slow cooker pot and left it in the fridge over night, popped it in the slow cooker twelve today, so yum yums at eight...

Have a look here...some forum limits, especially the "messages in a subject" bit. 990 messages which equates to roughly 67 pages, then it locks automatically and we have to start another. We've had about half a dozen we had to restart, most notable being "What are you doing today", "Goodnight thread" etc.

So it's Mermaids fault then, she should have explained that in the first post rather than going on about ham etc, just can't get the staff, can you...

Mermaid was correct to Ham it up a bit.

You know, I put eight in last nights meal, small ones, just a bit bigger than shallots, about ten the same size in today's meal, for the soup I would usually use eight big onions, so for that I substituted four small ones to one large one so that was thirty two , so in total I've used fifty, and there's still about a dozen left...

£1.67...

Arghhh,  just read the comments on the Asda link, I've been robbed, 5kg for £1.49 at Morrisons and Tesco...

Actually it's not too bad an idea with the sequential numbers and it would work if we all remembered what number the last locked one was...(not much chance of that then!  )

I'm sure I could do it when I'm sober, oops problem...
