A number of years ago developers attempted to seek permission to build one of those horrible big all inclusive top end swanky hotels on land next top the beach, there was local uproar and David Bellamy even got involved to help protect its natural beauty and thankfully it was rightly knocked back.
Dalyan river delta & Iztuzu beach as since won acclaim & countless awards for its natural beauty and work in preserving it.
An 8 lira 15 minutes dolmus ride takes you to the turtle sanctuary end of this unspoilt stunning beach, its a return fare so you can stay as long as you need with a dolmus every 30 minutes or as many do enjoy the 45 minute walk you along to the water taxi end, so worth doing was like being on a dessert island.
The water taxi down from Dalyan to the more 'crowded' part is only 10 lira return however it's the part where the tourist boats land and pass there masses onto the smaller shallow bottomed boast that are only allowed up & down the Dalyan delta.
The sea is lovely and warm and crystal clear, 2 sun beds & a parasol only 10 lira for all day wooden huts provide toilets and a food outlet.
It's a truly unspoilt beach and worth a visit, however the real must visit is the superb turtle sanctuary sited there.
Dalyan delta is well known for its sea turtles and it's work to preserve their natural environment, they work protecting and rehabilitating injured sea turtle and once they are released back they track them to watch there development, turtle are brought to the sanctuary from all up the turquoise coast of Turkey:
