Unless i'm in a car that bing bongs no seat belt i very rarely remember to put the thing on,
Janet and Lexie wont let me go 5 yards with out it, but if i;m on my own my mind is elsewhere and i forget, but if i see dibble my instinct kicks in that i'm up to no good.

Always remember to drop the phone before putting seat belt on quick. 6 points then.

Before it became law, very rarely wore them, until, cousin involved in head on, guy in other car dead, no seat belt on, cousin alive, all be it a bit of a mess, ribs, arm, leg, jaw all broken, he had his seat belt on, if not, he would not be here, I've always wore them since, and remind everyone in car to do so...

Recall being on holiday in Spain many years ago, there had been a bad car crash local to where we were, had TV on in apartment, local news reported it, showed mangled bodies lying everywhere, still in my mind to this day, and that was about twenty years ago.

Just look at car racing, strapped in like hell, and those guys survive some big ones...

Watched a program the other night about the development of car safety devices, don't get side swiped, the brain can take a head on, but a side swipe pulls both half of the brain apart, it don't like that...

Raced things all my life, going fast don't kill you, it's stopping fast that does...

Bit like flying, I love it, just the thought of dying that scares the shit out of me...

Gotta say, seat belts on aeroplanes, fu#king joke, adopt the brace position,,, fu#k off, doggy position for me with the tartiest trolley dolly...

Fors and against, guy my Dad new was squeezed out through the window by vacuum when a lorry went over his van, no seat belt, if he had he would have still been in car. Friend died through a guy coming wrong side of road at top speed on country lane, he had no seat belt, wanker driving the other car lived, he was. He was also out of it on drugs and this saved him from severe injury.

I know there are exceptions when say, for instance, a car crashes into a river or lake then we'd rather not have a seat belt on, but those are rare occasions and the odds are massively in favour of wearing a seat belt all the time.

A lot of the roads round my way run alongside rivers, use one every time I drive anywhere. No banks and no barriers, 60mph roads and the road surfaces are very bumpy.  Transport  (Typical fen transport) You get used to it. People die every year here, including a family from my village. But, you get used to it. Now if your car drops into a river 20' below at 60 mph its gonna stop very sudden I can tell you, no seat belt and passengers especially will be out for the count. Even if uninjured and you swim to the bank imagine trying to scramble 20' up a 45 degree slippery bank in the freezing cold, impossible I should imagine with say one broken leg or arm. Yeah, I wear my seat belt.
